We're happy to announce our latest instameet collaboration withMNCommunity!
Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at Hennepin and Co's newly refurbished events space, housed in the headquarters of Hennepin Made's glassmaking studio.
We'll have some donuts on hand from Rebel Donut Bar, meats and cheeses from Lowry Hill Meats, beer, background on the building's past, present, and future, and sunset views of downtown.
See you there!
Located at 144 Glenwood in the North Loop, the structure was originally constructed in 1955 as the Ford McNutt Company's glass warehouse and designed by Magney, Tusler and Setter, the same firm responsible for the Foshay Tower. The building's loading docks were capable of handling six trucks at one time, and features like a custom mono-rail and bridge crane system, wood parquet floors in the glass-handling areas, and controlled temperatures provided maximum efficiency and safety for handling large sheets of plate glass.
Hennepin Made recently acquired the structure to house their expanding business and introduce a beautiful "new" industrial events venue to the city's North Loop. Renovations have preserved and celebrated its history, saving original details like a mosaic inlay in the entry and an overhead track.
Free parking is available in the lot along Holden Street (here's a map:http://bit.ly/2it6Z3s)
