CALL FOR ENTRIES: 2022 Minneapolis History Lecture Series

(C) U.S. Library of Congress - loc.gov

We at Preserve Minneapolis, an all-volunteer, 501 c (3) non-profit organization (www.preserveminneapolis.org), are planning and sponsoring a lecture series, consisting of three lectures, during the winter of 2022-23.  Two of the lectures will be online via Zoom and the third lecture will be in person before a live audience at a location yet to be chosen.

Lecturers will be chosen by Preserve Minneapolis’s Lecture Series Sub-Committee.  We invite anyone to submit a proposal -- so please forward this email to all of your colleagues and publicize it in your organizational publications, websites, and bulletin boards.

All lecture topics must be related to preservation of historic and/or cultural resources in Minneapolis.  In addition, all lectures must be no more than 1 hour, including 10 minutes for Q&A.

Preserve Minneapolis will pay each lecturer a $250 honorarium.

Please submit a proposal, of no more than 300 words, to Richard Kronick, Chair, Preserve Minneapolis Lecture Series Sub-Committee, richardkronick@msn.com. Please include the following in your proposal:

  • Your name

  • Your professional position and/or affiliation

  • The title of your proposed lecture

  • A brief summary of the content of your proposed lecture, including a brief description of the visuals you will use.

  • Tell us why you are the right person to present this lecture.

  • Your resume or curriculum vitae

The deadline for submission is October 1, 2022. The Lecture Series Sub-Committee will review all proposals and will notify all applicants of acceptance or non-acceptance by November 1, 2022. Then the sub-committee will work with each lecturer to choose a date and, for the live lecture, a venue.
