Minneapolis Grain Exchange Instameet

  • Minneapolis Grain Exchange (map)

Get excited, grammers -- this one's a ge(r)m! Sorry, we couldn't resist a little wheat joke. Nonetheless, we're delighted to announce our upcoming instameet with MNCommunity and Minneapolis Grain Exchange - MGEX!

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange was founded in 1881 as the Chamber of Commerce and has served the grain trade industries at 400 4th Street South since 1902.

Minnesota was the largest wheat market in the world back in those days, and this Louis Sullivan-inspired structure decked out with elegant marble and terracotta detail was the perfect showcase.

Bob Mack of MacDonald & Mack Architects will be our historical guide for a brief presentation about the history of the buildings, including some artifacts.

Join us afterward at Crooked Pint Ale House! We have reserved a few tables for suds and socializing.
