Minnehaha Park Walking Tour

  • Bridge over Minnehaha Falls Minnehaha Park Minneapolis, MN 55417 United States (map)

At one time, the most visited landmark in Minnesota, Minnehaha Falls was the home to the Dakota, the site of mills and a zoological garden with wild animals from around the world, a ski jump and animal refuge and an early motorhome camp. Come and walk through the park as we learn how the falls came to be where it is, how the park has changed over the years and who visited and partied there!

This is a walking tour of about 1 1/2 miles with places to rest .

Maureen Trepp has lived her entire life near the water of Minnehaha Falls, enjoying pony rides and library books and in 2012 and 2021, researching, producing, writing and directing "Minnehaha Falls; The Musical" a children's play. She is a former Mpls. Public Schools teacher, Mill City Museum History Interpreter, Human Geography professor at Augsburg University, and is still a community theater actor, active volunteer, caring grandmother, world traveler, and lover of history, geography and Minneapolis.
