Come explore this unique historic district in the Seward neighborhood with us and take in the fall colors!

The Milwaukee Avenue Historic District is comprised of two blocks of late 1800s workers homes. These properties were falling into disrepair by the 1960s and teardown was imminent. Fortunately a local group banded together and in 1970 was able to save these homes, get them listed on the National Register of HIstoric Places, and move new working class families in. Today the street is open to bikes and pedestrians.

One of the founders of Preserve Minneapolis, Bob Roscoe, got his start in preservation on this very project. He will give a brief overview describing the work he and his colleagues did to save Milwaukee Avenue.
